Heart & Lung Health
Heart and lung conditions can significantly affect daily activities and long-term health. Our Internal Medicine practice evaluates and manages common cardiovascular and respiratory conditions while helping patients reduce their risk of future complications.
Asthma
Asthma is a chronic condition in which the airways become inflamed and narrowed, causing episodes of wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath.
Treatment focuses on controlling symptoms, identifying triggers, preventing exacerbations, and maintaining normal activity. Pulmonary function testing and inhaled medications may be recommended when appropriate.
Cardiovascular Disease
Cardiovascular disease includes conditions affecting the heart and blood vessels. Important risk factors include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, smoking, physical inactivity, and family history.
We emphasize cardiovascular risk assessment and management through preventive care, lifestyle modification, appropriate testing, and medications when indicated.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a chronic lung condition that can cause persistent cough, mucus production, wheezing, and shortness of breath. Cigarette smoking is a major risk factor, although COPD can have other causes.
Management may include pulmonary function testing, inhaled medications, smoking cessation, vaccinations, exercise recommendations, and specialist referral when appropriate.
